After about 35,000 cases completed, the RIAA has recently announced that they will stop trying to hunt down individuals for downloading illegal music. However not everyone is out of the woods just yet, they did state that the started cases will continue, but no new cases will be filed. Under the new plan, the RIAA will contact ISPs when illegal uploading is detected. The ISP will then contact the customer with a notice that would ultimately be followed by a reduction or cessation of service. The RIAA also says that it won’t require ISPs to reveal the identities of individuals but could, of course, go after individuals who are heavy uploaders or repeat offenders.

I first saw this though a Tweet from kevin Rose, since it has blown up over the web taking down even the biggest sites. As you can see in the picture the Google maps car smokes a deer and captures it all on film. If you follow the street view scene down Five Points Road in Rush, NY, you can see the deer run out in front of the car, get hit and then see it on the side of the road before the car pulls over.

For Christmas I received an 8GB blue zune from my girlfriend Tori. I just got done setting up the zune pass and zune social, and I must say I am very impressed with it. Above is my zune card, you can see my recent plays, how many times I play songs, and even the songs I mark as my favorite. If you are a fellow zune user and you have not created a zune social profile I can not encourage you enough to do this! I would also highly recommend getting a zune pass, the zune pass is an all you can eat download service and for 15 bucks a month you cant go wrong!

Last night I spent a good chunk of time getting my wordpress install to allow me to email in blog posts. I made use of a few plugins and other web services such as ping.fm and it sure does work nice. I can now send pictures and video from my phone and wordpress will post them just as if I had done it from a pc. I can also put html in my emails, and wordpress will use it correctly. Expect more and more blog posts in the future as I no longer am required to be sitting at a computer to update.
